A Message From The President
Happy New Year. I am truly honored to serve as your HTLA President in 2024!
As we roll into another year, there are many things that HTLA does that I intended to keep status quo. Our members, our sponsors, and the services that we provide to our members are top notch. However, there are certain aspects of the association that I want to expand upon and make better. Mainly, I want to help HTLA grow its membership.
We ended 2023 with a membership of 1200 lawyers. HTLA’s 2022 long range planning committee set a goal of 1250 members by the end of 2025. This is a number that we should blow past in 2024. But, that isn’t good enough. My new goal for HTLA is to surpass 1350 members by the end of the year. We cannot do that without your help. I encourage you to reach out to other lawyers and get them involved in this great association. Also, please ensure that all lawyers in your firm are members of HTLA.
We must also gear up and be ready for the next legislative session in 2025. As we have seen over the last 3+ years, the insurance industry and big business are doing everything they can to whittle away the rights of injured Texans. Our job is to protect those rights and defend our clients and future clients from this injustice. HTLA and similar-minded organizations are the only voices that injured Texans have. We must be financially prepared to continue that fight. The HTLA PAC plays an important part in shaping HTLA’s political influence. I encourage you to donate to the PAC, whether it is a monthly donation or a one-time donation.
I look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible. I encourage you to get involved; come to the monthly board meeting, CLEs, happy hours, and any other events that HTLA hosts. Let’s make 2024 a great year!
